Steph’s Story

It’s amazing the difference a year can make!!! Approximately 18 months ago I attended my first ride at WTIC. I was hopeful this was going to be the thing I needed to lose weight. I had no idea that this was going to become my new passion and the first step to an all new me.

I am a married 34 year old mom of 2 boys, aged 2 and 4. I think my story is fairly typical of any woman going through two quick pregnancies and juggling a professional career which had me commuting two hours a day. I was always tired and stressed which led to poor nutrition and a gradual weight increase. I had little to no motivation to do anything extra. Eventually I had enough and I realized I needed to stop using motherhood and family life as an excuse not to take care of myself, but instead use them as the reason I needed to get out and find something to help better myself.

Since that first session at WTIC, I’m down 40 lbs and my strength has drastically increased. My FTP has increased from 170 to 200 watts and I have added 2.4 kms to my 30 minute distance. But most of all, my confidence is higher than I think it has ever been. I am proud of myself! I have become happier and healthier, I have more energy and I am more positive. This energy and confidence allows me to spend more positive time with my children and family, which in turn has created a happier home.
There is a commercial on TV right now that says 90% of woman have a negative thought about themselves at least once a day. Because of WTIC, I am no longer a part of that 90%.

Not once have I had a feeling of dread getting ready to go to the studio. I look forward to a great ride and get excited thinking about the work ahead that I know I need to do in order to reach my goals.

All in all, WTIC is what keeps my life balanced.
